Filming Notice Template

Written by Assemble | Jan 12, 2024 3:15:00 AM

Often times, you may find yourself filming in a public location where non-actors or passerbys may cross into the frame of your camera.

To avoid legal issues, its necessary to ensure that anyone who has appeared in your footage has given their consent to appear in the footage. Because it can be difficult to get individual talent release forms from background extras or passerbys, it is necessary to post a filming notice to inform people that the area is being filmed.

How to use a Location Release Form

Before filming in any public space, you should always work with the local film office or government to ensure you have a film permit.

However, once a film permit is obtained, it is still necessary to post filming notices to inform the public that the location is being filmed and to enable them to avoid the area, or provide their consent to be featured in the scenes.
